TalkToName stores your chat history, starred domains, and theme preference only in your browser's localStorage. We have no user accounts and no server-side database. When you clear your browser data, your chats are gone.
TalkToName uses Google Gemini to generate domain name suggestions. When you send a message, your conversation (including all previous messages in that chat) is transmitted to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not store your messages on our servers; they are passed through our Cloudflare Worker only to reach the Gemini API.
Google processes this data in accordance with their Gemini API Terms of Service and Data Processing Addendum, which includes EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the EEA. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing the service you requested.
Do not include personal data in your domain name requests. Your messages are used solely to generate domain suggestions and are not used to train Google's models (API usage is excluded from training by Google's terms).
All messages submitted to this service are screened for harmful content before being processed. This screening is performed using OpenAI's Moderation API, which means your input is transmitted to OpenAI for this purpose. We do not use your messages for any other purpose.
When a message is blocked by our filters, we log the event including your IP address, the time of the request, and the reason it was blocked. We do not log message content. These logs are automatically deleted after 30 days and are retained solely for security purposes.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and privacy-preserving. It collects no personally identifiable information and does not use cookies or local storage. No GDPR consent banner is required.
Domain name lookups are performed via Cloudflare's public DNS-over-HTTPS service (1.1.1.1) and the RDAP protocol. No domain queries are linked to your identity.
When you click a "Buy" link for a domain, you are directed to GoDaddy or Porkbun through an affiliate link. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay. Once you leave TalkToName, the registrar's own privacy policy applies.
TalkToName is operated via Cloudflare's global network. Message content is transmitted to Google's Gemini API, which may process data in the United States. This transfer is covered by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Because we hold no personal data server-side, most data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercised by clearing your browser's localStorage. For any questions about how Google handles your messages, refer to Google's privacy documentation linked above.
